STCW PSSR E-learning course meets the mandatory minimum standards of competence in personal safety and social responsibilities in accordance with section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code, Table A-VI/1-4. The course is designed to prepare new recruits for life on a ship at sea where they will experience a vastly different living and working environment compared to that if they were living and working ashore.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR) E-learning Course meets the mandatory minimum standards of competence in personal safety and social responsibilities in accordance with section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code, Table A-VI/1-4.

The course is designed to prepare new recruits for life on a ship at sea where they will experience a vastly different living and working environment compared to that if they were living and working ashore. Working on a ship can be a hazardous occupation for the uninitiated. This course will give new seafarers an insight into the various elements of a ship and working procedures on board so that they adjust to the shipboard environment and are better prepared to cope with any unforeseen circumstances. To that extent, this course is planned to make their transition from ashore to a sea career as smooth as possible and provide some understanding of a seafarer’s working environment and the hazards, procedures and safe work practices they will encounter, before they actually step on board a ship.

  • Who is it for: Marine and Non-Marine roles including Officers and Ratings of merchant vessels, Cruise ships crews, Super yacht crews.
  • Accepted by: All flags that accept IMO white list approved training including South Africa, Malta, Liberia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Cooks Island, Dominica, Egypt, Hong Kong/P.R.C, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Morocco, Oman, Palau, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tanzania, Taiwan.
  • STCW Compliance: Fully compliant with the requirements of the SCTW Code as amended.
  • Courses and Assessment: Online only.
  • Duration: 24 Hours.
  • Eligibility: Newcomers and Refresher training.
  • Prerequisites: Passport / ID.
  • Certificate Validity: Five (5) years.
  • Certificate Provided: On the successful completion of the course you’ll receive a Digital Statement of Results, which you’ll need to send to the Training Centre. They’ll then send you Stamped Digital PDF Certificate file.

STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities Registration

    The following will happen once you have completed your registration and your order been received:

    1. You will receive a invoice from Bookings department.
    2. Please send proof of payment to admin@maritimetraining.co.za.
    3. You will be loaded onto the E-Learning portal and receive your login details from admin@maritimetraining.co.za.
    4. Once you have completed the e-learning successfully, inform us and we will then do verification and issue the approved certificate.
