Helicopter Landing Officer


This 3 day course is designed to meet international standards in training Offshore Helicopter Landing Officers in the control of routine offshore helideck operations and the appropriate responses to offshore helideck emergencies. This course is based on the OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) standards.

Each certificate carries an expiry date, requiring the holder to undertake ‘Further Training’ in line with International Guidelines

Pre Requites: HLO’s will hold a Emergency Helideck Team Member certificate and  Advanced Marine Fire Fighting Certificate and previously served as a Helideck Assistant onboard an offshore installation or having some experience of handling aircraft either onshore or offshore is required.

Helicopter Landing Assistant


This 3 day course is designed to meet the international standard in training for Offshore Helideck Assistants in Helideck Operations. This course is based on the OPITO (Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization) standards.
Delegates successfully completing this course will have gained knowledge and experience of:
  • Safety issues surrounding helicopter landings and departures
  • Handling cargo
  • Refuelling Helicopters
  • Participate in Offshore Emergency Helideck Operations
